Long Ball Program – Durham Triple Play Leagues: Explorer Post 42

About Us

Explorer Post 42 was established in September 2014 as a joint effort between Long Ball Program – Durham Triple Play Leagues  and the Boy Scouts of America’s Learning for Life Program. The Explorer Post program through Learning for Life was established in 1988, and is designed to encourage youth aged 14-20 to explore careers in various fields. Post 42 provides youth of Durham and surrounding areas the opportunity to explore a career in the business aspects of baseball and its supporting infrastructure. In addition to career exploration, the Explorer Post is designed to provide a link between the academic and career worlds, and provides participants with a wide variety of real-world skills. These include character development, self confidence, leadership skills, and social development. The post provides youth the opportunity to network among future peers in the working world, provides access to volunteer community service, and encourages group collaboration and teamwork.

Long Ball Program – Durham Triple Play Leagues is proud to sponsor Explorer Post 42, and proud to make a positive impact on the lives of the youth participants.
