Mother’s Day Dinner and Musical Explosion Scholarship Fundraiser
This event will be held on Sunday May 12, 2019.
Doors open at 2:00 pm and the event starts at 3:00 pm.
Come and enjoy the festivities: Praise Dancers, Mime Performers, Gospel Music and Motown Songs.
Menu: Baked chicken, meatball & gravy, rice, rolls, string beans, potato salad. Banana pudding, cupcakes & Lemonade.

Mandatory Coach & Volunteer Training
SafeSport mandatory training is required by MLB for all coaches and volunteers. The training courses are free online courses and there are 3 that need to be taken.
Following successful completion of each course you will receive a downloadable certificate.
The course link, instructions on how to take the course and further instructions on downloading and providing the certificate to Longball are found at the Training page on this site.

Passing of Coach Frank Jacobs, Jr.
Coach Frank Jacobs, Jr homegoing service will be this Thursday, March 21, 2019 at 12 noon. Visitation an hour before. First Calvary Baptist Church, 1311 Morehead Ave. Durham NC 27707.
You were a coach that turned boys into outstanding athletes. Durham sports will never be the same because gone is one of the best in the game!
The family is requesting that donations be made to Longball in lieu of flowers.

Hendrick GM Southpoint is going to bat for Durham Triple Play in 2019
We are pleased to announce that the Long Ball Program – Durham Triple Play Leagues has partnered with Hendrick GM Southpoint through its Chevy Youth Baseball program. This program will provide our league with new equipment, instructional opportunities as well as monetary support.
In 2019, the Chevy Youth Baseball Test Drive Fundraiser is a program by which Hendrick GM Southpoint will provide everything you need on opening day, Tuesday May 28th at 6:00 pm at the Durham Athletic Park.

The Chevy Youth Baseball Test Drive Fundraiser is EASY!
The dealership folks will will have the code and laptops right at the ballpark so you can register right at the game.

Pat James, MLK Activist Award for 2019
Ms Pat James, President of the Long Ball RBI program is awarded the MLK Activist Award for her dedication to inner city youths in Durham and surrounding cities for the past ten years. She has impacted over 2000 youths and still counting.

National Mentoring Month Recognition for Long Ball
The Durham City Council meeting held on January 7, 2019 recognized our president, Pat James, and Long Ball RBI for mentoring Durham area youth. This was part of the National Mentoring Month Recognition activity at the council meeting.

2019 Registration and Tryouts
Registration fee: $42 per player using credit card or PayPal
We must charge you an additional $2 to help defray the cost of processing when using PayPal to register. When using this payment method please add a note that the payment is for your registration. You will see an option to “Add special instructions to the seller“. Thank you.
Register directly using a credit card or your PayPal account.
Registration fee: $40 per player
New Players: Need to bring copy of birth certificate, physical and registration forms that you can get from our website or fill out at tryouts/registration.
Returning players: Need to bring $40 registration fee and physical to either tryout dates or turn in to your coaches. Please inform your coaches that you will be returning and let them know you will be giving them this information. If you want to go to another team, you will have to go in the draft on the day of your age group tryouts.
Tryouts will be held on two days by age group.
